Lost passwords, Thunderstorms and Room Cleaning

Posted by [email protected] on July 19, 2009 at 4:40 PM

I think the title of this post pretty much explains most of the stuff I’m thinking about…the only other thing would be that I’m cat-sitting for a neighbor tonight and tomorrow morning. I was a little surprised to get that call, since I haven’t been cat-sitting in over a year, but whatever. Also, it makes me nervous every time I go over, because often they still have a car in the driveway, even though they’re gone. I’m always afraid of walking in on them; I’d be mortified if it actually happened!

The lost passwords the title mentions? One was the password to this blog. Again. For some reason, I really seem to have trouble remembering passwords. But I’m always afraid to write them down…what if someone else gets their hands on it?

On the subject of lost passwords, there’s a word document I wrote a while ago, and password protected. Only problem is, I can’t remember the password! T_T And I really really need to open that document in order to finish one of the stories that I’m working on.

The thunderstorm is the explanation for why I didn’t write a post yesterday or the day before. My mom said that there have been lightning strikes in our area, so she turned off everything electrical. I admit that that makes sense–but I don’t follow that. I was busy watching a movie and wondering why the internet was off. >.<

Room cleaning! My bedroom at home has been messy ever since I moved into it. A friend of mine, “Ki” (like I mentioned, its a fake name and I think I’m the only one who should understand who I mean. Maybe. Anyway, we’ll call her that for now) was over on the fourth of July to see the fireworks. She thought my room was a horrible mess, and volunteered to help me clean it. Of course, I jumped at the chance. For the past three days, she came over and helped me clean. Or, to be more accurate, I helped her clean. She did more than I did! And while I feel bad about that, I’m also glad that the room is getting clean. It really does help to have a friend clean your room with you. Ki is always saying “What is this? Do you use it? Do you need it?” And if I’m too indecisive about it, she often just tosses it. I suppose that would make some people mad (especially since I think that she tossed more stuff when I wasn’t looking) but it just makes me laugh. I’m so lucky that she’s my friend.

So far, from my room we’ve brought out about 8 bags of trash. Wow! I hadn’t realized that much of the mess was simply trash. Also we’ve brought out about 2 1/2 bags of stuff to bring to salvation army. Eventually, that is. The bags are still sitting in my dad’s car. Next, Ki said, we’ll start going through my books. I have over 200, so they take up quite a lot of room. A bunch of them I’m probably willing to get rid of. Some of them I’ll try to post on paperbackswap.com, others will end up donated to the library, or, if they’re in horrible condition, they’ll just go in the trash.

Cleaning is a lot of work!
