On the bright side...

Still depressed over finances, but since that won't change anytime soon, I moved on to other things. For one thing:

That's since April 2012. ^_^ It took two years to lose it, but because it took so long hopefully it would take just as long to gain it back if I stopped paying attention!

And another thing:

I only have 91 rows left to knit for this scarf. ^_^ That's out of 521 rows total.

College = worth it...?

At the moment I'm feeling very much that no, college was not worth it. I can't get a job, and I'm over $100,000 in debt. I can't make monthly payments because I don't have a proper full time job. The rate things are going, I am going to be in debt for the rest of my life. So with that in mind, no college is not worth the expense. I'm going to be paying back forever what should have been a stepping stone into the 'real' world and what is instead a weight around my ankles pulling me down. And I'm not alone. I've heard stories of others in similar situations to mine. And while some people seem to have managed to pay off school loans entirely, I can't figure out how they did it. Did they live on air until they paid those loans back? I pay no rent, and am currently not even paying for food even though I should. I pay the cell phone bill in return for my parents paying car insurance, which is about the same. I have been cutting back on as much spending as I can possibly manage. Yet my monthly bill pay is always more than my monthly income. I don't understand it...and it's getting me very depressed.

Happy Halloween!

Merry Samhain as well.^_^ Samhain is the wiccan new year, so I feel as if I should be writing out new years resolutions!  :D I won't though...every time I make new years resolutions I don't keep them very well, and then I feel bad about it. If I was going to make one, it would probably be to keep up this blog more, watch finances better, etc. The one thing I have managed in this past year is weight loss. Since last October, I've lost about twenty pounds! That's something I mean to keep up, hopefully as well as I have been.

Anyway, I'm off to do a quick candle ceremony for the new year, so I'll end this entry here. :) Blessed be everyone.

Oh wait, I did want to add a picture or two of Rhi dressed up as "Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.", since I didn't dress up or anything.

She's standing next to a pumpkin that two of my sisters carved.

Updateish

O0 has it really been three months since I updated this?  Yeesh.

Anyway, just a quick updatish thing.

Today I subbed at a school not the preschool for the first time! It was a little nerve wracking at first, but then it simply felt like the summer plays, where I feel like no one's listening and I end up yelling too much. >.<

Speaking of jobs...I lost one. Of those two that I said oh wow, I actually got both? From one of them, I actually got fired!  The reason was something along the lines of that I "didn't seem like a good fit for the company." I'm not quite sure why. It did take me a little while to get the hang of it, but when I got fired was when I felt like I'd finally gotten it. So yea, that makes no sense whatsoever. They told me that I could list the official reason as "let go due to lack of hours", which also makes no sense considering that they still have their hiring sign up!

On a brighter note, I'm now playing D&D with a friend that I hadn't heard from in ages, and when we got back in touch she was like "hey, want to come play with my d&d type group?" so that's cool. :D

And I finally got about halfway done with that scarf I've been trying to make for months! ^^

Bugs

Things I dislike about summer:

-Traffic

-heat

-humidity

-bugs

So I was sitting in my rocking chair, when I heard paper crinkling. I didn't think too much of it at first, because sometimes paper falls near the rocking chair and makes noise. But when I froze, the sound kept going. So I looked around, trying to find the source, and in the corner, I saw a piece of paper moving a little. I held my breath as little black legs poked out...then out plopped a bug. A big bug. It was as tall as a tea bag rest is wide. (The one I have shaped like a teapot, anyway). Immediately, of course, I called for my brothers. "There's a freaking huge bug in here! Do something!" They came and looked at the bug, They told me it was a beetle, and then because I was freaking out a little, one of them got it to crawl on a napkin and dropped it outside.

Oh, and I did get one of the jobs I interviewed for after all. ^_^ Now I just have to figure out how that works with me still wanting to stay at the other job a couple of days too...

Interview madness

Posted by [email protected] on July 9, 2013 at 5:35 PM Comments comments (0)
In the last two weeks, I've had two interviews, looking for a job closer to home than the one I have. Apparently, I suck at being interviewed. The first interview, last week, was a double interview (e.g. Two interviews in a row) and took about an hour. I was told I'd hear back within a couple of days. As of today, I had heard nothing, so I stopped by. They said that the person in charge was on the sales floor and couldn't look at applications until later. This person supposadly had questions for me, and so I obviouslly said that it was fine for her to call me later. She hasn't called. The second interview was today, and was with two people at the same time. They seemed really nice, and I thought that I had actually done well in the interview for a change, even though it only took a half hour. But it seems that I messed up somehow because I already got an email saying thanks for interviewing, but all positions have been filled. So I just wonder what the heck I did wrong. I always seem to get to the interview stage, and then get turned down. To me, that seems to say that I am really bad at interviewing. Which is stupid, and upsetting.

Car

So here is a picture of my car!

It was taken at the parking lot at work, because that's when I remembered to take a picture...

On the hood were these scratches, right? and dad said that it would rust if I didn't get car paint to cover them. In the auto store, we found a gold paint that said it was for a saturn, but it didn't exactly match...

Bug

Leave it to my brothers to go to bed early the night I need them for bug removal. There was a creepy crawley bug on the bathroom counter downstairs. I was afraid he'd crawl on my toothbrush if I set it down, so my mom suggested trapping him under a cup. Problem was, every time I got close, he moved and I jumped, so that didn't work. So I brushed my teeth upstairs.

Pictures

I am so bad at remembering to post here. >.< But here are some pictures that I meant to post and just refound. I'm not sure I can remember where these go chronologically, but I'll try to post them in the order I took them.

I finally bought a frame for the picture a friend drew for me for my birthday two years ago. That was when I was in Japan, and had just gotten my first doll, who I named Rhiannon.

I don't have the book this came from anymore, but I had to take a picture of this one comic. I feel like that some days!

For my birthday I wanted potstickers, because I thought that they would be similar to gyouza, which is one of my favorite Japanese foods. This was my test run a few days before my birthday. They smelled like gyouza, looked a little like gyouza, and tasted almost like gyouza. Verdict: Potstickers (this brand, at least) are almost as good as gyouza.

My birthday cake! With my mom's yummy strawberry frosting. We couldn't find the icing to write with, so we made do with darker strawberry frosting. (It was a confetti cake) ^_^

On Easter, when taking doll photos, I caught two of my sisters laughing in the background! :D

And then today, I tried a new kind of tea. It starts out as these little pellet looking things, and bloom into flowers with the hot water. The package says that each one is good to steep three times. So I guess its a good thing green tea is one of my favorites! (Though this was actually green tea with jasmine, but close enough)

Update entry

Goodness it's been a while since I posted here. I've been working at the preschool, and at a cashiering job too, so I haven't remembered to write anything...

Since I last posted, I've had to get a new car. My old car was apparently so rusted that the front end was barely being held onto the back end, and the mechanic said to not drive it anymore. So I gave that car to them, and for a decent price, got a little gold saturn. ^^ I like the little car--I've had it since my birthday.

I don't have any pictures to post yet, unfortunately. I should take one or two... :P
